The 2018 Maryland Family Engagement Summit offered creative approaches to identify and meet parents’ needs. The Summit also featured innovative strategies to engage families and children and support their mental health and social emotional learning. The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Joyce L. Epstein, an expert in early learning and child development. Dr. Epstein is the director of both the Center on School, Family, and Community Partnerships and the National Network of Partnership Schools (NNPS), and a research professor of education and sociology at Johns Hopkins University.
